Better To Say Goodbye

It is better to say goodbye to a dream than to go on dreaming as before,
At least I have the memory and something to recall;
Lovely was that dreaming but I have to let it go,
Shed a tear or two perhaps, but never let it show;
I will cherish it in my heart that flash of something beautiful,
Glimpsed as I were reaching out for the impossible;
I will be more wiser and smarter in the future,
Life will be played upon a different string and in another key;
Gladly I will remember it when the winter's snow melt away,
It is better to say goodbye now to that once silly dream.
